Vita Cassese Biography

Vita Cassese is the vice president of global business technology for Pfizer Global Pharmaceuticals (PGP) and a member of the PGP senior leadership team. Cassese joined Pfizer in manufacturing systems in 1978. Over the course of a 25-year career at Pfizer, Cassese’s responsibilities have expanded with the extraordinary growth in the business. She has been involved with a number of groundbreaking initiatives, including deployment of electronic territory management systems within the pharmaceuticals field force, electronic submissions to the FDA, and innovative use of the Internet for communication to both physicians and consumers. Cassese’s team is now responsible for the information technology that supports the business capabilities of more than 55,000 PGP colleagues worldwide. Cassese has authored several articles on information systems planning, knowledge management, and decision support technologies, and regularly speaks on the topic of strategic use of technology in the pharmaceuticals industry.
