Joseph Eng Biography

Joseph Eng is JetBlue’s executive vice president and chief information officer, and is responsible for the value airline’s IT strategy, development and execution. Eng is a member of the executive leadership team of the airline. Eng has organized JetBlue’s IT goals around four themes: alignment with the business; leading, not just following; consistent, predictable, improving; and maximizing IT investment. Eng and his team at JetBlue were recognized by CIO Magazine with its CIO 100 for 2009.

 Eng was previously chief information officer of SWIFT, where he led product development, technology, and operations for the world-wide provider of mission critical financial messaging services. He and his teams were recognized by CIO Magazine with a CIO 100 in 2005 and 2006. He was also president and chief executive officer of Spectrum Systems, a provider of IT solutions and services to the public and private sectors, and held leadership positions in the telecommunications industry with both Ameritech (now part of AT&T) and Bellcore, since renamed Telcordia Technologies.
