Jon Williams Biography

As CTO of Experian CheetahMail, Jon Williams is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the company’s global technology, including defining the product road map, product requirements, product specifications, product documentation, software development, delivery, and more.


Prior to CheetahMail, Williams was the CTO at Flat World Knowledge, a leading publisher of commercial, openly-licensed college textbooks. Williams also held a position as the CTO for iVillage (a division of NBC Universal). Prior to that, he was the CTO of Kaplan Test Prep. Before joining Kaplan, Williams served as a consultant and technology architect for numerous media/internet companies including AOL Time Warner, Scholastic, Grey Healthcare, Oxygen Media, Bigfoot Interactive, and Bluefly.

Williams also served in key leadership positions at two Silicon Alley Web pioneers: Interactive Imaginations, where he developed one of the Internet's first ad delivery systems which later became the backbone of 24/7 Media; and leading online music retailer N2K, (later acquired by CDNow/Bertelsmann), where he worked on some of the Internet's first ecommerce applications and music distribution technologies.
 
In 2000, Williams co-founded the New York CTO Club, a 501(c)(3) non-profit professional organization for technology leaders to share ideas. In 2008, Williams was named one of Infoworld’s top 25 CTOs. Williams received a BS in Computer Science from Melbourne University in Australia.
