John Heidelberger Biography

John Heidelberger is Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. As the CIO, he is responsible for the delivery of technology-based services and solutions across the firm’s divisions. Mr. Heidelberger is a business-focused systems executive who brings a broad array of leadership experience spanning Information Technology, Business Operations, and Management Consulting.

Mr. Heidelberger joined Guardian in 2005. Prior to assuming his current role, John held positions as the CIO for the Individual Products Distribution & Park Avenue Securities organization as we well as the CIO for Individual Life and Disability organization. In these roles John partnered with business leadership of these profit centers to assure that technology and technology delivery was well aligned to the business goals of the organization. Additionally, John led the Enterprise Information Management function for the firm. n this role John was responsible for data management and business intelligence solutions for all of the firm’s data.

Before joining Guardian, Mr. Heidelberger held positions at Prudential Financial, Business Edge Solutions, and American Management Systems.

Mr. Heidelberger holds a master’s of science degree in computer science from Monmouth University and a bachelor’s of science degree in computer information systems from the University of Scranton.
