Joe Simon Biography

Joe Simon is the senior vice president and chief information officer for Viacom, the entertainment content company. In this role, he is responsible for the design, implementation, and operation of technology programs throughout the company’s worldwide offices. During his tenure, Simon has successfully created and supported an advanced technological infrastructure to support the increasingly complex businesses during a period of intense growth.

Simon joined Viacom in 1998 as senior vice president for information technology operations. Prior to joining the organization, he spent nine years as a principal at Booz, Allen and Hamilton, focusing on the media sector. He also held executive roles at Reader’s Digest and various businesses in New Zealand and India, where he also earned a master’s of business administration.

He is a member of the board of advisors for the Howe School of Technology Management at the Stevens Institute of Technology and is involved with Asha for Education, an organization dedicated to change in India that focuses on basic education.
