Jack Barsky Biography
Jack Barsky is the vice president of information technology at NRG Energy, a $10 billion electric generation company. He is responsible for all aspects of information technology in the company. During his 20-plus years in information technology, Barsky has held positions of increasing responsibility at several Fortune 100 companies. Early in his career he acquired a hands-on foundation working with various technologies at MetLife. He gradually advanced to project lead and project manager. At United HealthCare, Barsky held the positions of director of technology assessment and director of UNIX data center operations. Subsequently, he joined Prudential Financial as vice president of human resource systems. In 2001 Barsky made the leap into the energy industry by joining ConEdison Solutions, a subsidiary of ConEdison Inc., as CIO. There, he built and managed the information technology department. Barsky holds a B.B.A. from Baruch College, where he graduated in 1983 as the class valedictorian.
