Ed Toben Biography
Ed Toben is chief information officer of Colgate-Palmolive. He joined Colgate in 1990 as vice president, information technology, Colgate North America. Toben was promoted to CIO in 1999, responsible for all aspects of information technology throughout the company covering operations in 80 countries. Colgate is optimizing its systems capabilities on a global basis and has consolidated information technology into one global organization. Today, more than 95 percent of Colgate’s business is run on SAP. Prior to joining Colgate, Toben worked as director of worldwide systems at Sea Land Corporation. In 2000, Toben was selected as one of Computerworld’s “Premier 100 IT Leaders.” Toben is a member of the Transora Board of Directors, Uniform Code Council Board of Governors, and Visiting Committee at Fordham University’s Business School.
