Dennis McIntosh Biography

Dennis McIntosh is executive vice president and CIO of SBLI USA Mutual Life Insurance Company, Inc. His expertise spans three disciplines: technology, finance, and strategic planning. He leads the finance organization, including accounting, financial planning, analysis, and reporting, as well as internal audit, budgeting, cost reduction, cash management, treasury and investment management of a $1.5 billion portfolio. In his 21-year career, McIntosh has led and built state-of-the-art technology systems and financial organizations. Since 1999, McIntosh has led the development of SBLI USA 's complete technology reorganization. He orchestrated the selection and development of operating platforms to support corporate-wide insurance operations, pioneering e-commerce initiatives, and advanced Web-based HR and sales management systems. McIntosh led the expansion of SBLI USA 's corporate structure and, in cooperation with the board of directors and the senior management team, crafted the company's strategic plan. Under that plan, he has acquired a shell company and laid the groundwork for marketing SBLI USA products in all 50 states. He also oversees the relationship with A.M. Best, the insurance industry's leading rating organization. Previously, McIntosh was a senior manager in the technology consulting group at Ernst & Young. He spent four years at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. He also was vice president for U.S. operations at Reed Elsevier Corporation, and held positions with GTE and Coopers & Lybrand. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has lectured on technology investment and management for the University of Massachusetts graduate school. McIntosh was president of the Boston chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and is a member of the board of directors for SBLI USA and serves as board member and chair of the audit committee for Intelligroup, Inc. He holds an M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut and a B.A. with honors from Andrews University.
