Cathy Callagee Biography
Cathy Callagee is vice president, IS operations portfolio, at UPS. As operations portfolio manager, Callagee oversees application development for package operations systems, package planning systems, scanning applications, international operations, automation systems, and package flow systems. Specific areas of responsibility include application and scanning software development for UPS's new ring scanner technology, the Global Scanning System (GSS). GSS features one of the first devices to incorporate both Bluetooth and 802.11b wireless protocols. The new scanners and portable terminals, when fully deployed, will be used by more than 100,000 UPS employees. Callagee began her UPS career in 1985 as an IT supervisor and has held positions of increasing responsibility in capacity planning, computer operations, storage management, and application development. She also held several special assignment positions including instructor for the Corporate Supervisors Basic Training School. Prior to her current position, Callagee was responsible for the development of UPS's call center systems, where she and her team implemented the current CAReS System used in all UPS call centers, as well as various interactive voice response systems. Before joining UPS, she held various application development and capacity planning positions. She serves on the board of directors of the United Way of Bergen County, NJ. Callagee holds a B.A. in business management from William Paterson University and an M.B.A. in quantitative analysis from Fairleigh Dickenson University.
