Louise A. Rosen
Louise Rosen is the Deputy Vice President of Alumni Relations at Columbia University. She serves as the Director of the Sustainability Management Capstone Workshop. She was formerly the Associate Director of the Master of Science in Sustainability Management program. She also served as Associate Director of the Master in Public Administration Program in Environmental Science and Policy, and as Director of the Office of Academic and Research Programs for The Earth Institute at Columbia University. Rosen oversaw student affairs, program outreach and support for the MSSM. At the Earth Institute (EI) she was responsible for supporting existing academic and research programs affiliated with the institute and works to develop and incubate new academic and research programs. For the past five years she has worked as an Adjunct Lecturer for the EI Environmental Science and Policy practicum, which enables students to learn about the research and the practice of the centers and units within the EI. Prior to that, Rosen served as Director of Recruitment for The Earth Institute at Columbia University.
Rosen earned her B.S. in Economic and Political Geography from the London School of Economics in 1997. In 1999, she graduated from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism with an M.S. in Journalism. Before graduate school, she served as Education Correspondent for The Teacher magazine. She has written and reported for Newsweek.com, Forbes magazine, Upside Today, Fortune Small Business, Vogue and The New York Times. She has covered media, technology, cancer clusters and environmental issues. Her research interests include environment and economic development, environmental justice, and environmental discourse analysis.
