Program Schedule

Session I, Non-Residential

All students are required to attend orientation on Monday, June 25, at 9:00 a.m., in the auditorium of Lerner Hall, located on the Columbia campus at Broadway and 115th Street (campus map). There you will receive information about course schedules and locations and about various extracurricular activities. Classes will begin immediately after the orientation.

Session I classes meet Monday through Friday from June 25 through July 13. During the second week of the program, classes will not be held on Wednesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.  Refer to your curricular option for course meeting times.

Session I, Residential

Dormitory check-in takes place on Sunday, June 24, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Rooms are not available before this time. To check in, come directly to John Jay Hall. You might find it convenient to unload luggage on the west side of Amsterdam Avenue between 115th and 116th Streets. Parking is available on the street, and there is a parking garage at Amsterdam and 112th Street. Other parking garages are nearby.

Attendance is required at the Welcome Barbecue, which starts at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday and is followed by dormitory suite meetings. At 9:00 a.m. on Monday, June 25, all students must attend orientation in the auditorium in Alfred Lerner Hall (campus map). Classes begin immediately after orientation.

Checkout for residential students takes place on Saturday, July 14, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. All students who are not enrolled as residential students for Session II must vacate the residence hall by 11:00 a.m. For residential students enrolled in both sessions, housing, supervision, and recreational activities will be provided during the interim weekend.

Checkout for residential students takes place on Saturday, August 4, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. No student will be permitted to stay in the dormitory after 11:00 a.m. on August 4.
