Arda Nazerian

Arda Nazerian is a strategic communications advisor to public and private companies, with a 25 year career in communications, public affairs and public policy analysis spanning both the private and public sectors. She recently served as senior policy advisor and communications director to Nassau County executive Tom Suozzi, where she managed large scale initiatives related to government efficiency, health and human services and regional planning. She joined his staff in 2003 from Citigroup, where she was managing director of global corporate communications for IT corporate and investment bank. She had previously served as head of media and public relations at the American Stock Exchange. Nazerian came to Wall Street following a ten-year career in public service working for former New York Governor Mario Cuomo, including serving as director of his New York press office.

Nazerian’s experience with organizations of various sizes and geographic scope – ranging from the world’s largest and most global financial services company to a local government entity – has given her a unique perspective on the role of a communications advisor, the enormous breadth of audiences to be reached, and the critical importance of deciding how best to reach them. Her professional portfolio also includes public speaking coaching, media training and documentary production.

Nazerian is a founding member of the advisory board for the master's program in strategic communications at Columbia University. She holds a B.A. in communications and political science from Queens College, where she has taught as well, and a master's degree in public administration from New York University.
