Students outside the program may enroll in certain courses on a space-available basis with the following limitations:
- The courses are not open to undergraduates.
- Columbia graduate students must receive the permission of their home-school adviser and the Program Director.
- Postbaccalaureate Studies students must send a résumé or CV and a statement of purpose detailing how the course fits into an overall career development plan to the Program Director and receive permission to enroll.

Getting Into Graduate School: Admissions Officers Tell What You Need to Know

A panel of admissions directors from Columbia’s varied schools, including the School of Continuing Education, Columbia Business School, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and School of International and Public Affairs, will discuss the attributes they seek in successful applicants to their top-tier programs. Topics include academic requirements, advice on writing stand-out personal essays, and creating a desirable application package.
