Summer Programs For High School StudentsNew York City

“I had a great time meeting people from all over the world. I made so many new friends and will never forget my experiences at Columbia's High School Program.”
Chandler Clodfelter, 2012
International students who are proficient in English are welcome to apply to the program. Approximately a third of our students come from outside the United States. Students from over 70 countries, including Turkey, China, Hong Kong, Italy, the United Kingdom, India, Brazil, Spain, Canada, France, and Colombia, participate in the program each summer, gaining exposure to the U.S. educational system and enriching the program as a whole.
While applicants are not required to submit TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) scores, students’ English proficiency should be equivalent to 90 or above on the Internet-Based TOEFL or at least 6.5 on the IELTS.
International students should be aware that participation in the Summer Program for High School Students does not constitute the basis for securing a student visa.
