Kai McBride was born in Hawaii and, after living all over the United States, spent his junior and senior years of high school at the North Carolina School of the Arts. At the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston he concentrated on photography and film. In 2008, Kai received his M.F.A. from Columbia’s School of the Arts, where he was the departmental research assistant for the Photography Department. He teaches photography and design classes at Columbia University, Queens College, and Mercer County Community College.
