Brian Reich is senior vice-president - global editor for Edelman Digital, where he provides editorial vision and strategy for the company’s digital practice around the world.
Reich is the author of Media Rules!: Mastering Today’s Technology to Connect with and Keep Your Audience (Wiley 2007). In addition, he has written and contributed to a half-dozen books and publications on engagement, technology, open government, internet politics and shifts in the media landscape. Brian also contributes as a Fast Company Expert, hosts a regular podcast discussion about the impact of media and technology on society, and teaches consumer behavior and marketing strategy in the School of Continuing Education at Columbia University.
Reich began his career in politics. He has spent the past decade providing analysis and strategic support to corporations, media companies, nonprofits, and other organizations looking to solve complex, real-world problems. He has twice run his own communications firm, little m media, and has held senior roles at leading digital, public relations, and public affairs agencies.
Reich currently serves on the board of many organizations and startups. He is vice chairman of the board of Investigate West, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the art and craft of investigative journalism. He is a senior advisor with iFOCOS, an independent non-profit and non-partisan organization that uses research, education, and action to improve the digital experience. And he serves as the "Principal Evangelist" for Games That Give, a video game company that allows online gamers to earn donations for charity.
Reich attended the University of Michigan and graduated from Columbia University.
