Summer Programs For High School StudentsNew York City

Students may purchase reasonably priced meals at on-campus cafés and numerous nearby restaurants and shops.
Residential students are required to purchase a set meal plan that includes three meals per day, Monday through Friday.
Program participants have access to the Columbia University Libraries. Because the programs of study are short in length, students may enjoy reading room, but not borrowing, privileges.
The Columbia University Libraries are composed of 25 libraries that hold over 9 million volumes, 65,650 current serials, and an extensive collection of resources in electronic form.

Students enrolled in the Summer High School Program have access to computer clusters and laboratories throughout the campus. These facilities range from informational kiosks to high-end workstations to walk-in consulting centers.
Most of the campus, including the dormitories, is wireless.
Each dorm room is equipped with an ethernet jack to connect computers to the internet. Almost all of the residence halls also have their own computer labs; residential students should be aware, however, that they will not be able to work in the labs after curfew.
Columbia's Dodge Physical Fitness Center provides students with access to:

Alfred Lerner Hall, Columbia's architecturally renowned student center, serves students' needs conveniently in one location.
Facilities include:
High School Program students with medical problems can be seen, on a walk-in basis, by Urgent Care at Columbia Health Services.
Health Services, located on the second floor of John Jay Hall, is generally open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM during the summer. Students must be escorted by a High School Program resident adviser or program assistant.
The University provides a full range of services and accommodations to assist disabled students. Upon acceptance into the program (or by June 1 at the latest), students seeking assistance should contact the Disability Services Office. Only students who identify their disabilities well in advance can be assured of accommodation upon their arrival on campus.
Residential students requiring special dormitory accommodations should also email the High School Program Office at hsp@columbia.edu by May 1.
The High School Program Office, located in room 212A Lewisohn Hall, is open from 9 to 5, Monday through Friday, when the program is in session. This office is devoted to addressing student and parent inquiries and concerns.
