Sonja Carter
Sonja Carter is the Associate Dean for Development and Alumni Relations at Columbia Law School. She served previously as the Director for Gift Planning at Columbia University, and has over sixteen years of legal and fundraising experience. Carter received both her B.A. and J.D. (cum laude) at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and then obtained her M.S. in Fundraising Management from Columbia University. Her volunteer experience includes serving on the Young Executive Board of iMentor and on the board of the Big Apple Badgers Club (for Wisconsin alumni). She is a member of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning (formerly known as the National Committee on Planned Giving, or NCPG), and the Philanthropic Planning Group of Greater New York (PPGGNY, formerly the Planned Giving Group of Greater New York), where she served on the Executive Board as Secretary and Co-Chair of the Membership Committee.
