E. Ramone Segree

E. Ramone Segree, CFRE, is a philanthropic professional with 29 years of experience.  He serves as the vice president for institutional advancement and the foundation executive director for CUNY/LaGuardia Community College.  In 2002, he started the philanthropic and strategic management firm, Segree Associates, having served diverse clients, projects, and major campaigns in excess of $100 million.  Segree has served as senior vice president for institutional advancement for Meharry Medical College, vice president for institutional advancement and foundation executive director for Salem State University, vice president for development for Pittsburgh Public Theater, executive director of Pennsylvania NAACP, and public and government affairs manager for U.S. Steel Corporation.  He also has served as a medical specialist in the U.S. Army Reserves and the Pennsylvania National Guard.  Segree is a past chair of the international Association of Fund Raising Professionals Foundation for Philanthropy (AFP), is a member of the international AFP’s Leadership Society and AFP’s Greater New York and Rhode Island Chapters, and has published “Strategic Management: Leadership in Changing Times” in AFP’s Advancing Philanthropy.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and education from California University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in community psychology and organizational development from Pennsylvania State University. He was also awarded an honorary associate's degree from Community College of Allegheny County.  Segree is a currently working on a doctor of education degree in adult education and leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University.
