Justin Blake leads Edelman New York’s corporate and public affairs division and specializes in sensitive communications campaigns for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies, to governments to international nonprofits. Blake runs a team of 160 professionals in the areas of corporate and financial, public affairs, technology and corporate social responsibility.
Some of Blake's client assignments during his decade at Edelman have included: managing U.S. media for the World Economic Forum during the last eight Annual Meetings in Davos; training Starbucks general managers and communicators from every continent and roughly twenty countries in crisis management; and, in the wake of September 11, a campaign for the City of New York providing people who live in, work in and visit Lower Manhattan with essential news and information about the recovery. He also has substantial experience working on behalf of University clients including Columbia, Duke, New York University and Yale.
Before joining Edelman in 2000, Blake was director of communications for the New York City Partnership and Chamber of Commerce. Blake was an assistant press secretary for the 1993 Presidential Inaugural Parade and has worked on various political campaigns, including Clinton/Gore 92 where he served as a press aide on the first national bus tour.
Blake graduated from the University of Rochester and earned a master's degree in government from the London School of Economics. He is on the board of the Signature Theatre Company, a Duke University Media Fellow and a Young Leader of the BMW Foundation and Milken Institute.
