Mike Debiak

A certified planning and scheduling (PSP), earned value (EVP), and risk management professional (PMI-RMP), Mike Debiak has more than 28 years of construction and program management experience.  As an associate vice president for HNTB Corporation Debiak is a director of risk and scheduling.  Debiak has expertise in several areas including logistics, planning, CPM scheduling, building and analyzing forensic schedules, claims mitigation, risk analysis, performing Monte Carlo simulations, developing and implementing risk management mitigation strategies, and ANSI 748 earned value management systems - completing complex federal, public, and private infrastructure and transportation projects in many roles including at-risk self-performing general contractor, construction manager, and owner agent, for projects both domestic and international. Debiak has executed global projects exceeding $1.0 billion and program portfolios of $3.5 billion annually. Debiak differentiates himself from his peers through practical field experience; working his way from trade laborer to project superintendent, advanced knowledge in CPM scheduling and EVMS practices, national involvement in industry organizations and continuous pursuit of advanced education. Specifically Debiak is a former director of the Construction Specification Institute (CSI), former sub-committee chair on schedule risk for the National Defense Industry Association (NDIA), and subject mater expert on schedule and earned value management for the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) Cost Guide.
