Business: Graduate Offerings

Graduate students pursuing a Business Certificate have the option of studying on campus or online. They have the opportunity to gain valuable credentials and to enhance their qualifications for future study or professional advancements with these options.

Business Certificate Program

To earn the Business Certificate, students must complete four courses in the prescribed curriculum or a custom program decided upon with the help of an advisor with a B- or better in each course.

Courses available include:

  • Introduction to Finance
  • Introduction to Marketing
  • Financial Accounting
  • Managing Human Behavior in the Organization
  • Independent Study

Advanced Business Certificate

Professionals and graduate students who have already completed introductory class work in finance and marketing may pursue the Advanced Business Certificate option by completing four additional classes, for a total of eight courses.

In addition to the four introductory classes offered in the Business Certificate program or equivalent course work, students can pursue the pre-selected advanced class work that includes:

  • Corporate Finance
  • Decision Models & Management
  • Marketing Strategy
  • Options & Futures
  • Security Analysis
  • Independent Study

Students can also create a personalized course of study with the help of an advisor that includes advanced course work in another department or subject area. For example, you may decide to focus your advanced work in statistics or sustainability versus finance or marketing.

To obtain an Advanced Business Certificate, students must complete eight courses in the prescribed curriculum with a B- or better in each course.
