Certificate Programs
As an undergraduate student in your junior or senior year, you will be able to use Columbia’s Business Edge program to gain the fundamental business skills necessary to distinguish yourself in your field and to bolster your resume with a certificate from Columbia University.
In today’s complex global economy, employers in every industry expect their employees to possess a core set of business skills in order to advance in their field. Instead of learning these skills on the job, Business Edge enables you to develop a set of business skills that will give you an edge in today’s competitive job market.
Columbia University School of Continuing Education offers you the opportunity to take four business courses to earn a Business Certificate. The coursework can be completed during the school year or in an intensive business summer program. The coursework includes:
These courses are designed to give you a strong foundation in business and help prepare you for the job market upon graduation. Through the rigorous curriculum, you will master business fundamentals and develop specialized knowledge in marketing, finance, and management while strengthening your strategic thinking skills.
We also offer a summer option either online or on campus. During the summer, on campus students will have additional activities such as visits to the Stock Market, company visits to Fortune 500 companies, and presentations at local museums.

Summer Session 1
May 28 – July 5

• Introduction to Finance
• Managing Human Behavior in the Organization
Summer Session 2
July 8 – August 16
• Introduction to Marketing
• Corporate Finance
• Financial Accounting
Students have the flexibility to take one or both of the summer options. You may also take one course in each summer session or two courses in each session to complete the certificate in one summer.
