Mary Colonna, Lecturer
Mary Colonna is a full-time Lecturer at the American Language Program. She received her B.A. in English literature from Fordham University and her M.A. in linguistics from The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Columbia University. She has taught at the American Language Program since 1977, and currently specializes in advanced writing. She has also taught at La Guardia Community College and for Columbia Interactive, an online course for ESL Business Writing. In 2006, her class was televised for twelve weeks on NHK, Japanese Public Television station. She has served as coordinator of the NHK project, the part-time ALP Program and the American Civilization lecture series. She is co-author of Reason to Write, Advanced, published by Oxford University Press.
