Linda Lane, Senior Lecturer

Dr. Linda Lane has taught at the American Language Program for over thirty years.  She has taught all levels of ESL in the American Language Program as well as courses in the ALP’s TESOL Certificate Program, a program she also coordinated. She is the author of the Focus on Pronunciation series, a series she is currently revising, as well as Tips for teaching pronunciation.  Her research interests are in pronunciation teaching and second language acquisition.    She was a past director of Columbia’s Media Center and currently serves on the ALP’s Committee on Search, Review and Faculty Development.  She received her Ed.D. in applied linguistics from Teachers College, Columbia University,  her M.A. in linguistics from Yale University, and her B.S. in math at the University of Washington, Seattle.
