College Composition

If you are currently living outside the U.S., you must have a student visa. In order to qualify for the student visa, you must enroll in a full-time program (18 hours or more per week).
Students wishing to enroll in College Composition for International Students must demonstrate level-10 proficiency, either by taking the ALP Essay Exam or by receiving a final promotion to level 10 after attending an ALP course.
No separate application is required for College Composition for International Students. Student who will register solely as students of the ALP must register in the ALP office on the given date(s) of registration for each session. Those who are registered in other divisions of Columbia University may follow their school's normal course registration procedures.
